One of our favorite places to stay! Beautiful, clean, luxurious with fabulous innkeepers. We                        love Metropolis!

Henk and Colleen are just the most delightful innkeeper s.  Hospitality, good food,
leisurely   down time in the evening made our stay this  last week fantastic
Having read all of the Elm Creek Quilters books about the fictional quiltretreat, it was a serendipitous experience for me to be attending the Paducah Quilt Show while staying with all quilters at this beautiful bed and breakfast.
How fun is that! As my husband I began to know Henk and Colleen through many enjoyable conversations, we have become fast friends.
We miss them so much since returning to our home in southern Georgia.
I would be remiss to not mention that Henk spent a good deal of his life as a seafaring man, his stories were awesome and are pictured in two delightful books, which we have purchased-Turning the Rig by Harvey Oxenhorn and Wooden Walls to distant shores by Capt. John A Wilson.
We were so caught up in one of the stories that I have decided to write a children’sbook entitled "Henk, the Pirate!"
If you want to know what that story is all about---go stay at the inn.You won’t be disappointed. We loved it!

Hubby and I just got back from our annual anniversary trip to Summers Riverview Mansion,                     a Bed & Breakfast in Metropolis, Illinois
It was absolutely delightful-immaculate and full of beautiful antiques with a homemade                               breakfast of eggs, pastries &  biscuits and gravy.
I loved playing "Lady of the Manor" for a day! Do any of you have any fave "getaway" spots to recommend?

Hank and Colleen are the best! We were coming into the area for an ugly court case and
                     they met every need.
I can't sleep in bed so they allowed me to bring my own recliner into the room and they both did everything within their power to make sure we were comfortable and at home!
Couldn't ask for better treatment.
They're family now. Beautiful home, great food and fantastic furnishings.
Much better stay than where we had planned to stay.

From our Guestbook:

From bedandbreakfast.com:

My husband and I love staying in B&B's and this one we rank above the rest.
I was nervous because one of the reviews had mentionedt hat the bathtub was dirty upon their arrival.
I have to say this B&B is immaculate. Colleen and Hank are so  friendly and informative (they informed me that they are the "new inkeepers) not to worry about cleanliness with them.
Anyhow, my husband and I had a great time visiting the local attractions and highly recommend this B&B.

We are traveling across the us. We were very pleasantly surprised. This compares with some of our
best experiences in Europe!

My husband and I have celebrated my birthday during the month of January for the last two years here. Both visits were incredible. It was very quiet and the hot tub rooms are very romantic. A perfect getaway and the casino is within walking distance.

The Summers Riverview Mansion is a great place to stay and it's only one block from                                  Harrah's Casino.
We encourage all of our fans to visit and spend a night or two at this victorian bed and breakfast.
Each room comes complete with hot tub jacuzzi and you get a gourmet breakfast in the morning.
The rates are very reasonable.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011
I was in town for one night without the family. The next time I'm in town I'll be sure we all stay there. What a place.
Beautiful from the outside in. The staff was super friendly and accomodating and made a tired traveller feel right at home.
For an alternative to the Casino, consider this place. I loved it.

“SUPER Stay at the Mansion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011
I had never done the "B&B" thing before, but booked Summer's Riverview Mansion due to its proximity to the major events for the annual Superman celebration in Metropolis.
While the accommodations were much more than I needed, they are absolutely beautiful. The five bedroom home has a very cozy feel that still complements the luxurious antiques surrounding
you at every turn.
Every room has a jacuzzi, a claw-foot tub in the bathroom, and a luxurious bed. Henk and Colleen,
the hosts at Summer's Riverview, are extremely gracious in every possible way and even offered to drive me around to see surrounding countryside and sites-- something I regrettably did not have time to do.
Breakfasts were extremely tasty and filling;water, juice, and assorted snacks available any time of day or night.
If you are going to Metropolis and want to stay in style, then the Summer's Riverview Mansion is the place to be for a super stay!.

My mother and I wanted a cozy place to stay and I found the Summers Riverview Mansion Bed and Breakfast.
The owners were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Our room was wonderful!
We love to gamble and there is a casino right across the road. Plan on returning soon.

When we first arrived we were greeted by wonderful inn keepers Colleen and Henk
and given a tour of the mansion...the pictures truly don't do this place justice...
it was gorgeous. We spent one night in the sweet dreams suite, the room was very
clean and the beds were very cozy and intimate. Breakfast the next morning was
so much more than we had ever expected, it was delicious. We will be back!
